Art Allmägi

Art Allmägi (1983) is an installation artist who flirts with pop art, kitsch and architectural elements, approaching the classical techniques of sculpture from a modern point of view. Through his narrative style, he often deals with socially and politically sensitive topics.

Allmägi graduated from Tartu Art College with a degree in sculpture (2008) and obtained a master’s degree in sculpture and installation from the Estonian Academy of Arts (2011). He has been recognised with the Köler Prize Audience Award (2016), the Ado Vabbe Award (2017) and the Kristjan Raud Prize (2018). His latest solo exhibitions are Come and Kiss the Hand of the Future President at Draakon Gallery (2019) and His Dreams were Nothing Remarkable at Hobusepea Gallery with Keiu Virro (2020).
