Marijke De Roover

Marijke De Roover (1990) lives and works in Ghent, BE. She holds a Masters in Fine Arts from KASK School of Arts, Ghent (BE) where she was nominated for the Start Point Prize, Prague (CZ). In her artworks, she deals with questions regarding the nuclear family, feminism/motherhood, ethics of reproduction, and love, romance and compulsory heteronormativity under late capitalism. Her work has been shown at De Point, Tilburg (NL), David Roberts Art Foundation, London (UK), Arcade, London (UK), De Garage, Rotterdam (NL), Brakke Grond, Amsterdam (NL), Point Ephemere, Paris (FR), UNTITLED, Moscow (RU), BOZAR, Brussels (BE), Extra City, Antwerp (BE), Mu.ZEE, Ostend (BE), Museum Angewandte Kunst, Frankfurt am Main (DE), European Media Art Festival (EMAF), Osnabrück (DE) and Beursschouwburg, Brussels (BE), among others. Upcoming projects will take place at Zabludowicz, London (UK) and The Blank, Verona (IT).
