The Maardu landfill is home to countless seagulls. Strangely, these seabirds no longer gather at sea but seem to prefer landfills instead. Instead of real seas, they have now chosen vast expanses of garbage.

The former metallurgical plant in Rustavi is probably the largest abandoned site I’ve ever visited. Its grounds are roughly the size of downtown Tallinn. I spent nearly five hours exploring and still didn’t manage to see even half of it.
