Alexei Gordin

Alexei Gordin (b. 1989) is best known as a painter, but he also works with photography, video, and performance art. In his practice he uses dark humour to expose the absurdity of the (art) world and human alienation, while also addressing issues of inequality and marginalised social groups. Gordin studied painting at the Estonian Academy of Arts (BA, 2011) and at the University of the Arts Helsinki (MA, 2016). His works are held in the collections of the Tartu Art Museum, the Lithuanian National Gallery of Art, and Kiasma.
