Valeri Vinogradov

Valeri Vinogradov, born in 1952 in Moscow, began his artistic education in primary school. During his final year at a secondary art school, he met his future wife, an Estonian art student. This led him to move to Tallinn, where he enrolled in the painting department of the Estonian State Art Institute. Over the years, Vinogradov has been honoured with all of Estonia’s major art awards, including a medal at the Baltic Triennial of Young Contemporary Art in 1988, the Konrad Mägi Award and Medal in 1992, the Grand Prix at the 9th Vilnius Painting Triennial in 1993, and the Kristjan Raud Award in 2010. Known for his dedication to his craft, Vinogradov has consistently shunned public attention. He is an Estonian citizen and continues to live and work in Tallinn.
