Jenny Grönholm

Father

“I lived in my childhood home for 17 years, and losing that home was once a big shock. The only thing I have left from the place is the key to the front door – I have forgotten everything else, I couldn’t even remember what the facade of my childhood home looked like,” Jenny writes in her portfolio about the sculpture group displayed at the group exhibition Copies at the City Gallery in 2014.

This may be her former childhood home at 60 Aronmäentie, with another transparent human halo standing on the roof, as if trying to take flight. Everything in the picture is frozen like in a dream, only the heavily dissolved white paint is dripping. And the man on the roof seems to be in great confusion; he is not the flying type.
