Siim-Tanel Annus

Siim-Tanel Annus (b. 1960) graduated from Tallinn Secondary School No. 4 in 1978 and began his art studies in 1974 in Tõnis Vint’s private studio. From 1978 to 1984, he studied art history at the University of Tartu. Between 1980 and 1993, Annus was one of the leading performance artists in Estonia. He has held nearly 60 solo exhibitions across Europe, the Americas, and Asia, and represented Estonia at the 47th Venice Biennale (1997). In 2015, he participated in the 2nd Nanjing International Art Festival, where his work received the Grand Prix. His artworks are in the collections of various art museums in Estonia and Finland, as well as in Germany, the USA, and numerous private collections worldwide. Among other honours, Annus received the Kristjan Raud Prize in 2011. He has previously participated in the Tallinn Print Triennial in 1983, 1989, 1992, and 2007.
