Melting On a Chessboard

Robin Nõgisto’s paintings have no background or main characters. Everything –animals, birds, people, houses, and patterns – lives an endless life, moving from one canvas, wall or film to another. Despite the threat that this world will suffocate us, because it seems to reach everywhere from play to the esoterica, everything that Robin does still exudes a refreshing charm of fresh energy. Moreover, it seems that his paintings become increasingly laconic, precise and simple with the passing of time.

With her yellow eyes gleaming through the flaps, she assesses the situation from outside the chessboard. Like a winged Fortuna galloping on a horse, she silences the cannon and conquers the fortress. That is, unless she and her horse are swallowed by the chessboard melting in flames.
