Daniela Ortiz
Daniela Ortiz is an artist based in Cusco, Peru and Barcelona, Spain. In her works, she tackles such topics as nationality, race, social class, and gender in order to explore colonial, patriarchal and capitalist structures of inclusion and exclusion. She has also developed various projects about the exploitation of domestic workers by the Peruvian upper class. In 2016, she was a participating artist in the Framer Framed group exhibition Voices Outside the Echo Chamber: Questioning Myths, Facts, and Framings of Migration, curated by Katayoun Arian. Her recent exhibitions include “ABC of Racist Europe» (Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, 2017), “Blanca Europa” (Las Ataranzas, Valencia, 2017), “This Land Will Never Be Fertile Because It Spawned Settlers” (La Virreina Centre de la Imatge, Barcelona, 2019).
