Tomo Savić-Gecan

Tomo Savić-Gecan is an artist who almost as a rule exhibits “nothing”. Conceived in the manner of tabula rasa, the author’s projects function as empty sites filled with various charges, concealed tensions, references and interlinkings. In 2020 he was the subject of career-spanning retrospective at the Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb. His solo shows have taken place at the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Rijeka (2017), Zuidplein, Amsterdam and Van Abbemuseum, Eindhoven, the Netherlands (2016), Jeu de Paume, Paris and Bergen Kunsthall, Norway (2010), Etablissement d’en face, Brussels (2005), and De Loge, Haarlem, the Netherlands (2000). In 2022 he represented Croatia at the Venice Art Biennale with the project Untitled (Croatian Pavilion).
