Alyona Movko-Mägi

Alyona Movko-Mägi creates (mixed) media artworks and installations. Based on the experience of synaesthesia, Alyona seeks to enhance the perception of the viewer by creating compositions or decorations that evoke moving poetic images flirting with the subconscious and balance on the verge of recognition and alienation. The artist recreates her perception of the world, revealing the inextricable link between image and sound. In her recent work, Alyona delves into the study of AI and the concept of Metahuman. Emphasising aesthetics, she notes that the visualisation of the forms inherent in the crown of nature blurs the boundaries between the explicit and the fictional, bringing the concept of the virtual world to a natural continuation of being, and also reveals subconscious awkwardness and humour, reflecting our own vulnerability.
