Flo Kasearu

“How much longer?” and “Did you do that?”

2021

At the invitation by Kasearu, the local chamber choir Collegium Musicale will repeat two specific sentences: “How much longer?” and “Did you do that?”. “How much longer?” is a phrase commonly expressed by kids when, for instance, they have to sit in a car for a long time and begin to get impatient because they might not have an idea where exactly they are going. “Did you do that?”, on the other hand, is a phrase that is featured, among others, in YouTube videos like Dirty Dog Compilation, in which the owners give warnings to their pets when they have behaved badly. The actual highlights of these clips are the “adorable guilty faces” of the dogs when being confronted. In the specific set-up of the exhibition, using “How much longer?” and “Did you do that?” is a way to address the perpetrators who are causing the suffering of entire households and is a very good example of how Kasearu works with subversion and humour.

Performance is starting from 30 January, every Saturday at 1:45 pm.
Full-length composition will be premiered at Tallinn Art Hall on 27 March.
